K-12 Grants

K-12 schools in the CMMA region are eligible to apply for grant funding once per calendar year. The grants are awarded for projects or activities that are related to manufacturing and/or STEM.  Examples include FIRST robotics, VEX robotics, classroom supplies and equipment, manufacturing field trips, and more.

Education Sponsorship Guidelines

To balance CMMA’s commitment to supporting area schools with available resources, the following guidelines have been established for sponsorship requests. These guidelines are reviewed periodically to ensure they continue to effectively support educational partners.


Application Process

  • The CMMA Grant Review Committee will evaluate each application and may request additional information prior to board review
  • Applications are typically reviewed at the next CMMA Board of Directors meeting following submission

Recipient Expectations:

  • Participation includes a photo for use in:
    • Newsletter
    • Website
    • Social media

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for funding, applicants must meet all of the following:

  1. The project or activity must be related to manufacturing and/or STEM
  2. The school or organization must be located within the CMMA service region
  3. The school or organization must be registered on K12Navigator.org
  4. The school or organization must not have received a grant during the current calendar year

Funding Limits

  • Maximum funding per school/organization: $1,000 per year
  • Exceptions may be granted under special circumstances at the discretion of the CMMA Board

Typical Award Levels

  • Up to $1,000 – First-time high school/organization applicants
  • Up to $750 – Returning high school/organization applicants
  • Up to $500 – Elementary or middle school/organization applicants

Annual Funding Availability

  • Estimated total funding available: $10,000 annually
  • Final funding levels are determined during the CMMA annual budgeting process
